Royal Duyvis Wiener, kick-starts Log5 with first US deal

The Dutch trade mission accompanied by Minister of Health Mrs Schippers focused on nutrition, innovation and health; was the ideal opportunity to reward Log5 after its three years of Research & Development – Mirjam van Dijk said, who thanked her International Sales Manager Mr Tom Velthuis and American partner Koco for bringing the meeting about. “Our American partner, CHS Sunflower, is very honoured that this special moment took place during the visit of this trade mission”, Van Dijk stated.

For CHS Sunflower who signed the contract during the Chicago dinner, Log5 technology will provide the company with a safe pasteurization method to deliver high-quality food from farm to consumer. After several contamination outbreaks of salmonella in the USA, new US Legislation requires significant bacterial reduction in confection seeds and nuts. The American company CHS Sunflower is one of the world’s largest confection sunflower processors and serves more than one-third of US edible market. The patented technology developed by Log5 employs a natural pasteurization process that destroys bacteria using hot air. Log5’s unique method, recognized by the TERP committee and the Almond Board in the USA ensures product quality and flavour without the use of chemical additives.

Robert Deraas president of CHS, Inc.: “After careful consideration and extensive testing, it is clear to us that Log5 is the best pasteurization technology available. We are excited about Log5 and look forward to a long and mutually beneficial partnership.”

For Royal Duyvis Wiener BV the Dutch trade mission has been priceless.
